Per the standard, additional safety device should be used wherever there is a risk of strangulation by loops, if the window blind is provided with cords, chain, tapes or internal cords which may form a potentially hazardous loop for children. From now on, all ready to use window blinds and coverings must be provided with a set of warnings informing about the potential risk of strangulation. Additionally, wherever possible, products must be provided with product-specific safety devices:
- chain tensioners
- cord tensioners
- cord holders
- self-opening chain connectors
- self-opening cord ends
